Najaf police arrest suspect wanted in over 150 cases

NAJAF, Iraq — Police in Najaf have arrested a suspect who was wanted in more than 150 criminal cases, a security source with the Najaf Provincial Police Directorate said on Tuesday. The suspect had been sought for an extended period by judicial authorities, with arrest warrants issued across multiple case files. The operation was carried out following technical surveillance and field work by police units, according to the source. After his capture, the suspect was referred to judicial authorities for review of the pending cases against him. Police officials said operations targeting fugitives in the province would continue and that similar cases would be pursued thoroughly.
