Man stabs wife to death in Duhok’s autonomous Zap city, injures another

DUHOK, Iraq — A Kurdish Turkmen man stabbed his wife to death at their home in the autonomous city of Zap in Duhok province, also seriously injuring another person, a security source said. The attack occurred at a residence in the Kashani neighborhood, where the man stabbed his wife multiple times; she died at the scene. The same assailant transported the injured individual to the Emergency Hospital, where the victim remains in critical condition. The woman killed was reported to be over 35 years old. The suspect surrendered to police after the attack. Security forces went to the scene and began collecting evidence and launching an investigation. Judicial proceedings have been initiated, while the motive behind the killing remains unclear and the inquiry is ongoing.
