BEIRUT, Lebanon — BEIRUT — The lawyer for Lebanese artist Fadl Shakir said Wednesday that social media reports claiming a military court had agreed to release his client in three of four cases, with a fourth ruling expected within hours, are inaccurate.
Attorney Amata Mubarak said no official release decision has been issued in Shakir's case and that the circulating information is unfounded. He described the claims as rumor and said no judicial ruling has been announced.
Mubarak added that Shakir was unable to attend a scheduled military court hearing on Tuesday, June 30, due to a health issue, leaving his case file pending. He urged the public not to rely on social media posts unless there is a new judicial development.
According to the lawyer, the next decision by the court will determine how the case proceeds.
