Kirkuk University wins Iraq's first ISO/IEC 17024 accreditation for continuing education

KIRKUK, Iraq — Kirkuk University announced that its Center for Continuing Education has received ISO/IEC 17024 quality management accreditation, becoming the first Iraqi university to obtain the certification. The accreditation was issued by the Iraqi Accreditation Authority, which operates under Iraq's Ministry of Planning, after the center met the required international standards and conditions. University President Imran Jamal Hasan said the achievement reflected internal teamwork and a commitment to academic excellence. He also commended the center's director, along with the institution's teaching, administrative and technical staff, for their contributions. Officials said the certification will allow the center to run training programs and issue certificates with international validity across multiple fields. They added that the step is expected to support the development of a workforce aligned with labor market needs.
