Israel killed Hamas leader Nafez Subaih in Gaza airstrike, Saudi channel reports

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Saudi broadcaster Al-Hadath reported on Sunday afternoon that Israel killed Nafez Subaih, a leader of Hamas's military wing, the Izzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, in an airstrike on a vehicle in Gaza City. Gaza health sources said 18 bodies had been brought to hospitals in the territory between Sunday morning and 6:20 p.m. local time. The figures pointed to continued casualties despite a separate agreement announced Friday on implementing the next stage of a ceasefire, which includes a phased Israeli withdrawal alongside security and humanitarian arrangements. Health officials said attacks were striking civilians and that the death toll arriving at hospitals was rising. They added that Israel's military operations, the broader siege of the Gaza Strip and restrictions on humanitarian aid entry were all still in place.
