BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Iraqi Premier League clubs have accelerated squad preparations for the 2026-27 season, announcing new signings and contract renewals during the summer transfer window. Several teams have moved to strengthen their rosters ahead of the new campaign. Golan FC signed Mohammed Said from Duhok, while Zawra Club renewed the contract of Hassan Abdulkarim, keeping the midfielder under head coach Basim Qasim's plans. Air Force Club completed a transfer for Morad Mohammed from Zawra, and Zaho Club added Ahmed Sabri and Haroun Ahmed to its squad. Maysan Oil Club signed Tunisian defender Aymen Mahmoud from Diyala and renewed the contracts of midfielder Ali Latif and professional Daouda. The club also reached an agreement with Zawra for the transfer of Clarence. The Iraqi Football Federation announced new promotion and relegation rules, stating that four teams will be relegated from the Premier League starting from the 2027-28 season. The top two finishers in the upper division will earn direct promotion.
