BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi met on Sunday with Sheikh Hammam Hamudi, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, according to a statement from the prime minister's office. The two sides discussed general political and economic developments and stressed the need to provide all conditions necessary for the government to carry out its domestic and external responsibilities.
The meeting also addressed backing for anti-corruption efforts, the importance of unifying efforts by political and national forces around the cabinet's program, and support for implementing service and development projects.
According to the statement, the officials reviewed support for government measures aimed at strengthening the country's security and safeguarding its sovereignty. They affirmed a shared commitment to maintaining political stability and implementing the government's program.
