BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaydi has approved 11 decrees to advance a government project aimed at distributing one million residential land plots nationwide, according to a prime ministerial statement.
A high-level cabinet meeting reviewed the technical preparations and criteria for implementing the project, including regulatory steps designed to increase transparency in land allocation and accelerate the identification of eligible recipients.
The approved decrees cover simplifying administrative procedures, removing bureaucratic obstacles and strengthening coordination between central and local institutions. Officials said the measures are intended to complete the administrative framework needed to roll out the one-million plot initiative.
The project is intended to address housing shortages across Iraqi cities by providing long-term land access to eligible citizens, the statement said.
The Prime Minister's Office said the process will continue in cooperation with the relevant ministries, adding that an implementation timeline would be set in the coming period.
