Seremad Abdülilah, the financial secretary of the Iraq Olympic Committee, has been banned for life from all aquatic sports activities. The decision was issued by the Aquatics Integrity Unit following findings of harassment, maltreatment, and violations of integrity rules.
An independent judicial body in Lausanne, Switzerland, determined that Abdülilah committed severe violations. Consequently, he is permanently ineligible to hold any sporting position within the Olympic movement.
The ruling took effect immediately, with a mandate for all national federations and Olympic committees to recognize and enforce the ban.
Abdülilah has been granted 21 days to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
