Iraqi Oil Minister Orders Personnel Rotation at Basra Energy Firms

Iraqi Oil Minister Bassem Abdul Zahra al-Idani has ordered a mandatory rotation of personnel across oil companies operating in Basra to prioritize meritocracy and integrity within the sector. The directive aims to enhance administrative oversight and ensure professional standards are maintained throughout the province's energy infrastructure. Southern Refineries Company Director Hassan Hussein Wali confirmed that the Minister also issued specific instructions regarding the monitoring of ongoing refinery projects and the strategic planning of new initiatives. These directives are intended to streamline project management and improve operational efficiency. Basra Oil Company officials reported that the firm maintains a production capacity exceeding 1 million barrels per day for domestic market consumption. The company noted that it is prepared to further increase output capacity following the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Minister al-Idani emphasized the necessity of comprehensive training programs to bolster the technical capabilities of the workforce.
