BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's judiciary has released video footage of cash seized in an investigation linked to the Oil Ministry's Liquidation Affairs Department. Judicial sources said the probe concerns Adnan al-Jumayli, who was appointed acting head of the department after his predecessor Nazim al-Dujayl was removed from the post and detained.
The seized funds amount to 127 billion Iraqi dinars and $24 million in cash, the sources said. Investigators also placed real estate, vehicles and gold coins under seizure as part of the case.
The judiciary said the investigation and the tracking of other suspects will continue until the legal process is completed. No further details were immediately available on additional suspects or the timeline for any formal charges.
