BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Judge Tugrid Abdulmajid, president of the Baghdad Commercial Court and head of the Iraqi Women Judges Association, has been elected president of the Arab Women Judges Network, a judicial source in Baghdad said.
The network was established several months ago with its headquarters set in Baghdad. Its founding meeting was held in the Iraqi capital on February 12โ14, 2026, followed by the election of its new president.
The gathering was organized by the Iraqi Women Judges Association in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme Regional Office for Arab States. It was attended by International Women Judges Association President Judge Mina Sukrati, Judge Abdulmajid and members of the association's board, along with judges from Morocco, Qatar, Algeria, Yemen and Palestine.
The network aims to strengthen professional cooperation among women judges across Arab countries.
