Iraqi Interior Ministry sets Oct. 7 reporting date for Basra police school candidates

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Ministry of Interior, through its Directorate of Voluntary Affairs, issued guidance for candidates invited by text message to the 73rd session of the police school in Basra. Candidates are required to appear in person at the police school in the Shuayb district of Basra on Oct. 7 at 7:00 a.m., the ministry said. Applicants must bring an original national identification card plus four color copies, a stamped or approved grade certificate, 20 formal-attire photographs, and the identification cards of both parents. Death certificates are required where applicable, along with additional documents for candidates in special categories such as relatives of martyrs. Candidates must also carry a Mastercard bank card with a balance exceeding 31,000 dinars. The ministry instructed them to dress in black trousers, a white shirt, a black tie and plain black shoes, to keep their hair and beards trimmed in line with official regulations, and to retain the text message notification.
