DHI QAR, Iraq โ Security forces in Iraq's southern Dhi Qar province dismantled a prostitution network and detained three suspects, according to local security sources. Officials said the operation was carried out in the city center and that two women and one man were taken into custody.
The security source said the arrests were made under warrants issued under the 2024 First Amendment Law No. 15 to the Anti-Prostitution Law, which amends the 1988 Anti-Prostitution Law No. 8. Authorities described the operation as a coordinated effort by local security units and said the investigation has been expanded.
Security forces are continuing efforts to locate other individuals suspected of links to the network. Judicial proceedings have been opened in connection with the case, and police said inspections targeting similar networks in the province would be stepped up.
