BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Ministry of Defense has established a tactical trench training area within the Special Forces School to prepare troops for drone threats and trench combat, the ministry said in a statement. The facility was developed based on lessons drawn from contemporary conflicts, according to the announcement, and includes a command-and-control center, a field medical station, weapons storage rooms and designated spaces for support units.
The ministry said the site has been equipped with camouflage suited to modern battlefields and is designed to offer a realistic combat environment. The training area covers tactics against unmanned aerial vehicles and trench-based operations.
Special Forces Division Commander Maj. Gen. Gali Mohammed Kamel said the facility is the first unit within the Iraqi army to apply this type of training across different directions and positions. He added that the program will be incorporated into the Special Forces curriculum.
