Iraqi anti-corruption body raids two farms in Baghdad owned by political figures

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Federal Integrity Commission said it raided two farms in the Zafaraniyah area of southern Baghdad on Sunday evening, targeting properties linked to political figures, a security source said. The operations targeted farms belonging to Shabel al-Zaydi, head of the Servet Coalition, and former Labor Minister Ahmed al-Asadi, a prominent name in alliance circles. One team entered Zaydi's farm based on information that suspicious funds might be buried in the ground, the source said, while another team searched Asadi's farm in the same area. Officials said both operations were ongoing and that no seized materials or final results had been announced as of the time of writing. The Integrity Commission has been pursuing suspected cash and assets as part of a nationwide inspection campaign.
