BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraqi Airways said 903 passengers used discounted tickets in June under a program that offers reduced fares for specific categories of travelers. The airline said 162 passengers with disabilities or special care needs, 237 cancer patients and 504 retirees received 25 percent discounts on round-trip tickets during the month.
The airline also issued complimentary tickets to two wounded members of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), according to the statement.
Iraqi Airways said passengers with disabilities or special care needs are eligible for a 50 percent discount twice a year on a single ticket, while cancer patients receive a 90 percent discount twice a year. The company noted that ticket reductions during June were issued within the program's set quotas.
The airline added that the discount scheme will continue in other periods throughout the year. No further details were immediately provided.
