Iraq to hold government meeting on state land violations

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq will hold a government meeting soon to review violations targeting state-owned land, the head of the country's Security Media Cell, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, said in a social media post. Maan said the session would take place at the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, located within the headquarters of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. Earlier, the Security Media Cell announced a set of measures to prevent further encroachments on state land, including a reinforcement of security forces in affected areas and the launch of continuous field monitoring. Coordination with relevant official bodies has been established to carry out legal and administrative procedures, the cell said. The Security Media Cell said the steps are intended to prevent the recurrence of violations and protect public spaces. The upcoming meeting is expected to review the implementation of these measures and consider additional decisions aimed at curbing new land encroachments.
