BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's General Directorate of Meteorology said Thursday that temperatures across the country will ease slightly over the coming days. In a statement, the directorate forecast partly cloudy, hot and clear conditions in the northern region on Friday, with temperatures similar to the previous day.
Hot and clear weather is expected nationwide on Saturday, with readings near Friday's levels, followed by continued hot and clear conditions on Sunday and a drop of a few degrees from the day before. Monday is forecast to bring partly cloudy, hot and clear skies countrywide, with temperatures remaining close to Sunday's values.
The directorate said Friday's expected high temperatures would range between 41°C and 48°C. The agency did not specify which cities would record the highest readings.
