Iraq approves 100% profit share for General Company of Iraqi Ports staff

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Ministry of Transport has approved a 100% profit share distribution for employees of the General Company of Iraqi Ports, the ministry announced on Tuesday. Transport Minister Waheb al-Hasani signed off on the decision, the ministry said. According to the ministry, the move is intended to protect staff rights and reward performance, while the minister pledged to safeguard employees' entitlements, foster a productive work environment, and improve the performance of ministry-affiliated bodies by boosting revenues. The profit share was distributed after the company's board of directors approved a payment of 59,364,481,862 dinars tied to the company's 2023 accounts. The ministry added that the accounts were certified by the Financial Audit Office and that the process was completed in line with official procedures.
