Iraq's top judicial official visits Tehran for one-day legal cooperation talks

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Fayeq Zaidan, head of Iraq's Higher Judicial Council, traveled to Tehran on Sunday for a one-day official visit aimed at strengthening legal and judicial cooperation between Iraq and Iran. Zaidan departed from Baghdad and held meetings with Iranian officials during the visit. Talks focused on expanding cross-border judicial cooperation and advancing bilateral relations between the two countries' judicial systems, according to the council. The two sides reached agreement on mutual experience-sharing in the legal field and on developing joint working mechanisms. The council said the visit was intended to reinforce the existing judicial dialogue between Iraq and Iran. The delegation completed its engagements in Tehran on the same day and returned to Baghdad.
