BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council President Faiq Zeydan met British National Security Adviser Jonathan Powl in Baghdad on Wednesday, the council said. The two discussed cooperation between Baghdad and London on counterterrorism and efforts against organized crime, according to a written statement from the Judicial Council released after the July 15 meeting.
The talks covered ways to strengthen bilateral relations and the exchange of experience in counterterrorism, the statement said. Zeydan held consultations on expanding security cooperation between Iraq and the United Kingdom, it added.
The two sides also addressed the development of joint mechanisms to counter the cross-border activities of organized crime networks, according to the council. No further details on the discussions or any agreements reached were immediately available.
