Iraq's top diplomat departs Baghdad for official visit to Kuwait

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein left Baghdad on Wednesday for an official visit to Kuwait, marking his first formal diplomatic engagement since taking office, the ministry said. Hussein traveled with a delegation of senior ministry officials and technical advisers. The visit is aimed at reviewing bilateral relations and shared files between Baghdad and Kuwait City. Border security, energy cooperation and regional developments are expected to feature prominently in the talks, according to the Foreign Ministry. Both sides also plan to discuss joint mechanisms based on mutual interests during the scheduled meetings. The ministry said the visit is being carried out under official diplomatic protocol and that further details would be released to the public in due course.
