WASHINGTON, United States — WASHINGTON — The United States imported no oil from Iraq in the week ending July 25, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. EIA weekly data shows that U.S. crude purchases from Iraq had averaged 183,000 barrels per day the previous week before falling to zero in the most recent reporting period. During the same week, the U.S. continued receiving oil from Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Brazil and Nigeria, with total imports approaching an average of 6.2 million barrels per day, the agency said. Iraq has ranked as the second-largest supplier to the U.S. after Saudi Arabia, though Canada and Mexico have also placed higher on the list in some weeks. Iraq's exports to the U.S. have fluctuated since the start of the year, dropping in some weeks and rising above 200,000 barrels per day in others, according to EIA figures. The agency said variations in source countries are shaped by market conditions and shifting trade flows between producing nations. EIA weekly reports are widely tracked as a key reference for crude prices, global supply and demand balances, and OPEC+ production decisions, offering a regular snapshot of Iraq's export performance to the U.S. market.
