BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Iraq's Ministry of Justice activated an automated system on Tuesday at the Kadhimiya First Land Registry Directorate in Baghdad, moving property registration transactions to an electronic platform. The system will handle transfers, sales and purchases, demolitions, successions, inheritance and corrections electronically, according to a ministry statement. Under the new framework, archive files, registry records and encumbrances will also be stored digitally, with the ministry citing the goal of reducing reliance on paper-based processes and improving the efficiency of services provided to the public. The ministry said the system will be rolled out in stages, starting with other land registry offices in Baghdad and later expanding to all units nationwide according to a set timetable. Officials added that the platform aligns with the ministry's broader digital transformation strategy and is designed to strengthen the speed, accuracy and transparency of judicial services.
