BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Electricity Minister Ziad Ali Fadhil issued a ministerial order on June 22, 2026, ending the assignment of the director of the Rusafa electricity distribution branch in Baghdad and appointing Ahmed Zayir Karim as the new director. Karim previously served as a senior chief engineer at the company.
Under the order, Karim will receive a 25 percent responsibility allowance on top of his base salary. The ministry said the reshuffle is part of an ongoing restructuring of managerial positions across electricity distribution branches.
The Rusafa branch oversees electricity distribution services on the eastern side of Baghdad. The ministry did not provide further details on additional appointments or the broader restructuring timeline.
