Iraq's Education Ministry to release admission criteria for gifted schools this week

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's Ministry of Education said admission criteria for schools aimed at gifted and high-achieving students have reached their final stage and will be published within days. Ministry spokesman Karim al-Sayyid said the standards will be shared publicly in the coming days. The ministry said the planned opening of additional schools is intended to ease overcrowding at existing institutions. Al-Sayyid noted that the privileges granted to students enrolled in these schools remain in force and were previously published on the ministry's official website. According to the spokesman, the release of the criteria will clarify the application process for families and students. Officials said work continues to expand educational capacity for gifted students across the country.
