BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Ministry of Education has announced that high-achieving students enrolled in general secondary schools can apply for transfers to schools for outstanding students. Under the new procedure, students in general secondary schools with an average of 90 percent or above are eligible to apply, the ministry said.
Transfers will be carried out according to the existing capacity of the receiving schools, and the number of students admitted to each school will be determined by the physical space and enrollment limits of the educational institutions, the ministry added.
The ministry said the transfers will be approved by the Deputy Minister responsible for technical affairs and will proceed only when the academic achievement requirement and capacity conditions are met, as well as upon the request of students and their families.
Applications will be processed under the supervision of the Deputy Minister's office for technical affairs at the Education Ministry, the statement said.
