BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Iraq's Ministry of Education has dismissed as forged a document circulating on social media that claimed the mid-term school holiday had been cancelled. In a written statement, the ministry said the document was fake and that no decision had been made to scrap the scheduled break. The circulation of the document, which appeared under ministry letterhead online, prompted the ministry to clarify its position publicly. Officials urged students, parents and the wider public not to rely on such unverified social media posts and to refer only to official ministry announcements. The ministry said the holiday calendar remains in force and that schools will continue to operate according to the existing academic-year schedule. It added that no changes had been made to the planned break. The ministry did not indicate how the forged document was created or who may have circulated it, and no further details were immediately available.
