BASRA, Iraq โ Iraq's Oil Ministry undersecretary for gas affairs, Izzat Sabir Ismail, said the ministry's Artawi field project is a key part of its strategic plans and is designed to support the energy sector and reduce emissions by processing associated gas.
Speaking during a field inspection in Basra, Ismail said the first phase aims to process 300 million standard cubic feet of gas per day from the Artawi, West Qurna 2 and Majnoon fields. He said work should continue according to the set timetable to secure energy supply and improve services.
Ismail also reviewed progress on production units under the accelerated gas investment project and the GMP project. No further details on timelines or output were immediately available.
