BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's airspace and all airports have fully reopened to commercial flight operations, the head of the Air Navigation Services Movement Unit said Monday. Mudar Tamer told a press briefing that airspace and all airport facilities are now open for traffic following a temporary closure prompted by military operations between Iran and Israel.
Rescheduling flights, adding new services and processing passenger compensation claims are at the discretion of individual airlines, Tamer said. He advised passengers to contact their original ticketing agency or travel office directly to coordinate their travel plans.
The Ministry of Transportation said Iraq Airways plans to operate more than 40 flights to various international destinations Tuesday. The ministry added that flight schedules will gradually increase and that arrangements to return passenger traffic to normal levels are continuing.
