BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Oil Ministry on Saturday denied allegations that gasoline had been mixed improperly and that fuel pricing was manipulated, calling the claims unfounded.
The ministry said all petroleum products offered to citizens are fully subsidized and meet required standards. It listed four fuel categories currently available: regular gasoline, upgraded gasoline, premium gasoline, and liquid petroleum gas for vehicles.
Refinery mixing operations represent a standard technical process aimed at converting naphtha products into gasoline that meets Iraqi specifications, according to the ministry. The ministry said the practice is intended to boost domestic gasoline production and satisfy local demand.
The statement called on media organizations and relevant parties to obtain information from official sources.
