Iraq men's volleyball team begins West Asian Championship campaign in Muscat

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraq's men's national volleyball team is set to open its campaign on Tuesday at the West Asian Union Championship in Muscat, the capital of Oman. The squad has been preparing under head coach Alaa Halef, according to Ali Amir, a member of the Iraqi Volleyball Federation and national team official. The delegation held a light training session at the Sultan Qaboos Complex on the eve of the tournament, with the technical staff focusing on maintaining the players' physical conditioning and sharpening them for competition. Amir said logistical support and all necessary arrangements had been secured. Amir said the players and coaching staff were in good form, both physically and mentally, heading into the tournament. He added that the team was determined to deliver a result worthy of Iraqi volleyball and aims to finish on the medal podium.
