Iraq Football Federation attends FIFA meeting at Trump Tower in New York

SALADIN, Iraq — NEW YORK — The Iraqi Football Federation took part in a FIFA meeting with national federation representatives at Trump Tower in New York, led by FIFA President Gianni Infantino. U.S. President Donald Trump and senior figures from world football also attended the gathering. Iraq was represented by Federation Vice President Sarmad Abdulilah and Presidential Foreign Affairs Advisor Geyth Muhanna. The meeting was held ahead of the World Cup final, alongside the scheduled Spain-Argentina final and the England-France third-place match. It formed part of the final events on the tournament's program. In his remarks, Infantino pointed to football's role in bringing peoples together and strengthening peace. He praised the international cooperation behind the tournament's organization and described the World Cup as a global event that connects cultures.
