BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Iraq's Federal Anti-Corruption Commission carried out surprise inspections of fuel stations across Baghdad on Friday, examining whether fuel dispatched from state depots reaches consumers in the correct quantities.
Field teams raided multiple stations in the Karkh and Rusafa districts, checking storage and distribution mechanisms for signs of smuggling or irregularities. Inspectors verified records from the Petroleum Products Distribution Company's depots against actual deliveries to the public.
The operation followed directives from the Prime Ministry, which ordered continued fuel supply especially at the Sediriye station. Officials noted that demand for improved gasoline exceeded that for regular fuel, with longer queues observed at premium distribution points.
The inspections did not interrupt regular distribution operations, and no findings were immediately announced.
