Iranian actor and producer Hamid Reza Dashti has died of a heart attack at the age of 78, Iranian media reported. A prominent cultural figure in Alborz Province, Dashti worked for decades in Iranian cinema, television and theater.
He was widely known for playing the character Binay in the Iranian series "Prophet Yusuf," portraying a priest of the temple of Potiphar's palace and a steward of the Amun temple. Over the course of his career, Dashti appeared in numerous films, including "Pressure," "A Song for Two," "Iran 68," "The Naked" and "Empty Suitcases," and featured in television series such as "Made in Iran 3" and "The Car."
His death was announced through official statements carried by Iranian media. Further funeral or memorial arrangements were not immediately available.
