DUBAI, United Arab Emirates โ An Iranian military official has called for the immediate evacuation of Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports as well as the ports of Fujairah and Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates in case the United States carries out strikes on Iranian civilian infrastructure. The warning, reported by Iran's Fars news agency, came from a source close to the country's armed forces and was framed as a precaution to protect UAE nationals from Iranian counter-attacks if Washington targets Iranian civilian sites.
Separately, Iran's Mehr news agency said multiple US military strikes were carried out around the southern city of Sirik. Explosions were also reported overnight between Friday and Saturday in several parts of Iran, including five blasts around the central city of Yazd. The country's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said two oil tankers in Khuzestan province were hit by naval mines, according to the reports.
The developments come amid a sharp escalation in military exchanges between Iran and the United States, with Iranian officials warning that critical Gulf civilian infrastructure could be targeted if US operations expand further. No immediate confirmation or denial was available from US or UAE authorities.
