TEHRAN, Iran โ€” A senior commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has warned that any new US attack on Iranian oil infrastructure will be met with a stronger response than before, and that conflict would spread across the region. Brigadier General Ali Abdullahi, commander of the IRGC's Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters, said the United States is simultaneously using the language of negotiation while carrying out hostile actions, and that this contradiction is the main source of insecurity in the region, according to official Iranian media. Abdullahi said US officials have failed to grasp the true nature of the Iranian people and armed forces, and that American propaganda and media warfare cannot conceal its setbacks against Iran. He issued a direct warning against further strikes, stressing that retaliation would be fiercer than previous responses and that war would spread throughout the region. In the strongest signal yet, the general said oil and gas exports would remain open to everyone or to no one, framing it as a response to recent US threats against Iranian energy facilities. The warning follows remarks by US President Donald Trump, who said Iran would be struck hard again and that Hormuz Island and other oil infrastructure sites could eventually be seized and controlled. Trump stepped back from the attack plan the same day, citing progress in talks that he said had been elevated to senior leadership and approved by him.
