TEHRAN, Iran โ€” Iran's Health Ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpur said on Friday that 50 people have been killed and more than 500 wounded in US airstrikes on Iran as of July 18. Among the dead are five women, two children and two youths under 18, Kermanpur said, adding that 32 of the wounded are women and 18 are children or adolescents. According to ministry figures, 28 surgeries have so far been performed, 460 wounded have been discharged from hospital and 37 people remain under treatment. The figures were released as Iran reported new explosions overnight from Friday into Saturday, including five blasts heard around the central city of Yazd. In the same period, the United States carried out missile strikes on targets around Ahvaz, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps said, adding that two oil tankers had exploded after hitting naval mines. No further details on the casualties or the scope of the strikes were immediately available.
