TEHRAN, Iran โ President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Tuesday that an agreement reached with the United States was signed in full coordination with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Pezeshkian added that Tehran would not concede its rights, interests or national principles in negotiations with Washington.
The Iranian president was responding to domestic criticism, accusing some factions inside the country of attempting to damage the image of the negotiating team. His remarks were aimed at countering internal opposition to the diplomatic process.
According to a source familiar with the talks, Iranian and US technical teams met on Tuesday in Doha, Qatar, to discuss implementation mechanisms for the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries. The source told Reuters that the technical teams have been tasked with monitoring the provisions of the memorandum.
The same source said mediators have established dedicated communication channels between the parties to manage potential incidents and ease tensions. No further details on the agenda or timeline of the Doha meeting were immediately available.
