TEHRAN, Iran โ President Masoud Pezeshkian said approximately $6 billion in Iranian assets held in Qatar will be released in the near future, part of an estimated $12 billion in Iranian funds frozen abroad. Speaking to reporters, Pezeshkian said the Qatari-held funds represent a portion of the broader $12 billion balance of frozen Iranian assets overseas. He said the move was being carried out under existing financial and diplomatic arrangements.
Pezeshkian added that Iran continues working to recover the remainder of its frozen assets held in several countries. He said those efforts are part of broader measures aimed at strengthening the country's economic situation and supporting domestic financial stability. No further details on the timing or mechanism of the release were immediately available.
