Iran's IRGC says it destroyed three F-35s at US base in Jordan

TEHRAN, Iran — TEHRAN — Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it struck the US-operated Azraq Air Base in Jordan with ballistic missiles in the morning, targeting an F-35 maintenance hangar and a deployment area on the base, according to the Iranian state news agency IRNA. The IRGC said three F-35 fighter jets were destroyed in the attack and three others were damaged. The Guards previously claimed on July 30 that three F-35s had been destroyed at the same base and that a number of US officers, technical personnel and maintenance staff had been killed. Thursday's strike followed US air operations against Iran, which Tehran said had targeted civilian shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Separately, Iran announced that US bunker-buster bombs hit two civilian settlements on Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf, killing three members of one family, including a child, and wounding two children. US President Donald Trump said on July 8 that a ceasefire reached on June 18 was no longer in effect.
