Iran rebuilding missile arsenal while avoiding direct confrontation with Israel, Israeli media reports

TEHRAN, Iran — An Israeli newspaper has reported that the current state of "neither war nor deal" between Iran and Israel could persist, with Tehran focused on rebuilding its military capacity while under economic pressure and internal strain. Military commentator Alon Ben David said Iran is accelerating ballistic missile production and strengthening its air defense systems, but has avoided steps that would lead to a direct confrontation with Israel. He assessed that Revolutionary Guards commander Ahmed Vahidi understands an attack on Israel would draw a broad retaliation and deepen Iran's electricity, water and livelihood crises. According to information attributed to Israeli intelligence, Iran has not resumed uranium enrichment activities and has not removed stored enriched material, though the possible revival of programs linked to military nuclear development is being monitored. Ben David suggested the current stalemate could extend beyond the U.S. elections and that Israel is maintaining alert posture against possible escalation.
