The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said maintenance work has begun on the Dniprovska line, the main external power supply to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, following damage caused by attacks it attributed to Ukrainian sources. The 750-kilovolt line is being repaired by agency teams, with IAEA inspectors set to monitor the work on both banks of the Dnieper River. The agency described the repair as complex, noting that the damaged section of the line crosses the river, and said the work is expected to take several days. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said the start of repairs represents a step toward strengthening nuclear safety and security at the site. He reiterated that personnel at nuclear facilities must be able to carry out their duties free from attack and threats.
