WASHINGTON, United States โ€” International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi said Friday that reducing the level of nuclear material enrichment in Iran or shipping the material out of the country remains among the options available to Tehran. Grossi made the remarks as talks between Washington and Tehran continue over a broader peace arrangement in the region. Speaking to reporters, he said he hoped to visit Iran in the near future and that an understanding exists outlining a clear mechanism for the inspection of nuclear facilities. The IAEA chief stressed that any attack on Iranian nuclear sites must be avoided and that the agency's role is to verify whether agreements reached are being implemented. He said he believes no nuclear material has been moved since the last inspection in 2025. Grossi called on Tehran to demonstrate that it is not pursuing the production of nuclear weapons, noting the importance of the IAEA's role in that process.
