Houthis say drone struck Saudi Aramco facility in Najran

CAIRO, Egypt — CAIRO — Yemen's Houthi group said it launched a drone attack on a Saudi Aramco facility in the southern Saudi city of Najran on Friday evening, according to a statement carried by Reuters. The group also said it had struck an Aramco refinery in the southwestern Saudi city of Jizan with two drones on Wednesday, and had earlier claimed responsibility for a separate attack on the same Jizan refinery on Sunday. The Jizan refinery has a processing capacity of 400,000 barrels per day and was temporarily shut down last month following previous attacks. The Houthis have intensified operations against oil facilities and tankers in recent weeks. On Friday, the group also launched new attacks on al-Mocha port in the southwestern Yemeni city of Taiz, the Houthi statement said, following a previous operation last month using ballistic missiles and drones against al-Mocha that killed seven people. The Saudi-led maritime coalition operates in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden to protect shipping. Egypt, the Arab Parliament and several Arab states have condemned the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia and called for respect of international law.
