BAGHDAD, Iraq โ€” Houthi forces struck military sites, civilian neighborhoods and displacement camps with missiles and drones in Yemen's northern Ma'rib province, killing at least 10 people, including eight government personnel and two civilians, according to local officials. The attacks came a day after government forces suffered their heaviest losses in the escalation, with 58 members killed in a single day. Yemen National Resistance Forces said they repelled a Houthi assault on Houthi positions in the Al-Hima area north of Hodeidah governorate, killing Houthi fighters after detecting dozens gathering for the attack and firing on them. Both sides exchanged artillery fire, with government forces targeting Houthi reinforcements in Al-Guwayriq, and a Houthi drone intercepted by electronic jamming. Southern Yemeni forces separately reported engaging hostile drones west of the port city of Aden. United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and to engage in good-faith negotiations under UN auspices, warning that the country faces the risk of broader conflict. No immediate response from the Houthi side was reported.
