BAGHDAD, Iraq โ Gold prices in local Iraqi markets held steady in Baghdad on Tuesday while rising in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
In Baghdad's wholesale markets on Naher Street, 21-karat Gulf, Turkish and European gold traded at 936,000 dinars per miskal for selling and 932,000 dinars for buying, unchanged from Monday. The same markets listed 21-karat Iraqi gold at 906,000 dinars selling and 902,000 dinars buying.
Retail jewelry shops in Baghdad quoted 21-karat Gulf gold at 940,000 to 950,000 dinars per miskal, with Iraqi gold ranging from 910,000 to 920,000 dinars.
In Erbil, 22-karat gold reached 984,000 dinars per miskal, while 21-karat stood at 940,000 dinars and 18-karat at 805,000 dinars. The 21-karat price first surpassed one million dinars in local markets on January 21, 2026. Jewelers calculate gold prices based on the global ounce price and the local dollar exchange rate.
