GAZA โ Gaza's Health Ministry said seven people were killed and 28 wounded in Israeli strikes over the past 48 hours. The ministry added that since the ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, Israeli violations have brought the overall death toll to 1,098 and the number of wounded to 3,535.
The ministry said 800 bodies have been recovered from rubble since October 7, 2023, and reported that the cumulative death toll from Israeli attacks since that date has reached 73,221, with 173,643 wounded. It added that 96 additional fatalities recorded in finalized data since the start of June were included in the statistics.
The Health Ministry said many people remain under the rubble and on the roads, and that ambulance and civil defense teams have been unable to reach them. Gaza authorities have previously issued similar warnings during earlier phases of the conflict.
The United States announced on January 14 that the second phase of President Donald Trump's 20-point plan to end the Gaza crisis had begun implementation. The plan envisions the entry of at least 600 aid trucks per day, reconstruction of the territory, and the establishment of a technocratic Palestinian administration operating under the supervision of a "Board of Peace." The first phase of the ceasefire took effect on October 10, 2025, following indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel in Egypt's Sharm el-Sheikh.
