France beats Norway 4-1 to top 2026 World Cup qualifying group

France defeated Norway 4-1 on Monday in their third Group I match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, taking over the group lead. Norway opened the scoring in the first half through Thelo Aasgard, who finished off a pass from Andreas Schjelderup to give the visitors a 1-0 lead at the break. France turned the match around after halftime, with Ousmane Dembélé scoring a hat trick. Kylian Mbappé provided the assist on two of Dembélé's goals, while Désiré Doué added a fourth to seal the result. Mbappé finished with two assists. The victory extended France's strong run in the group and moved them to the top of the standings. Norway, meanwhile, slipped to a heavy defeat and will look to recover in their next qualifier.
